No quiero oro ni quiero plata
I don't want silver, nor do I want gold. Multi-channel-video HD, 2022.

During the colonial period in America, Creoles had coined an expression that indicates any kind of shameful resignation to oppression meant ‘playing the Indian’, related to the way in which the Spanish and the indigenous people related to each other, the power of European people and the evident subjugation American Indians experienced for centuries all over the American land.
Nowadays, phenomena such as war, pandemics, economic crisis, etc., force citizens to fall into vulnerable situations and into dependency, which puts them at risk of discrimination.
This video delves into current issues such as poverty, hunger, class gaps and inequity.
On the other hand, 'I don't want gold nor do I want silver' is inspired by the current reality of the ranks of hunger.
The protagonists of this video are forced to compete between them to win the content of a ‘piñata’, a new version of social assistance. It evokes a perverse version of the rationing system, present throughout history in periods of war and postwar, mostly in Europe.
