«Real state is a series of 10 drawings in which many paragraphs of two original Real Estate contracts signed during the housing bubble, are copied freehand, transcribing some words with invisible ink. Those words become visible by activating a UV light lamp upon them.
They appear decontextualized and they highlight the meaning of a new sentence created with these ‘invisible’ words, alluding to the abuses of those contracts (abuses that years after has been dismantled and regulated). For example, we can read: "I, the notary public, warn that no clause has been declared null and void because it's unfair".
This project delves into the idea of control linked to clauses and conditions of the mortgage contract that function as slogans of obedience.
